My Latest Fabric Finds for Spring and Summer

Highlighting my latest fabric finds and fresh sewing ideas to inspire your next project.

When I started the journey of creating my own sewing patterns, I was really looking forward to blogging and sharing my sewing to everyone and anyone interested, and to exchanging knowledge and ideas. Per usual, time has gone by awfully fast, and hasn't left me with too much of spare time. After the first month at a brand-new job, my daily life has slowly started to settle, and I'm brimming with excitement to get back to sewing and start blogging! So without further ado, let's get to the most important, which is sewing and fabrics. Today's post is about my recent fabric finds.

Two of the fabrics I found brand new at a local fabric store. They are both gorgeous floral prints, that I thought of turning into two skirts. I adore colourful and romantic prints like these, and think they would make beautiful, short and summery skirts. Luckily, I already have a sewing pattern for a short trumpet skirt, that I might use for this project.

Just how pretty and timeless are these!

The other two fabrics I found at a thrift store, which I am also very excited for. One of them is actually a repurposed curtain. It has a big rustic rose print and a beautiful sheen. I am thinking of using it to make either a summer dress or a romantic morning robe, which I have been dreaming of sewing for a while.

The other thrifted fabric is a delicate beige and feels incredibly soft. I'm thinking of creating a pair of shorts out of it—no zip nor buttons, just a stylish and comfy pair of summer shorts. Looking at the local weather forecast, I should have plenty of time for some mindful and delicate slow stitching.

I am really looking forward to working with all of these fabrics and sharing my projects with you. You are warmly welcome to tag along on this new diary-keeping journey, as I share more about my sewing projects and love for all things related to it.

Thank you for reading, and until next time, happy sewing!
